The purpose of the Mid-Michigan Land Conservancy (MMLC) is:
-
To conserve natural, scenic, recreational, and agricultural lands and their natural diversity in mid-Michigan so rural landscapes are preserved,
-
To encourage and promote the preservation of these lands and their natural diversity through education and other assistance.
Why preserve open space?
Our quality of life is protected when open space is preserved. Air, water, and wildlife benefit from natural habitats, and open space landscapes are attractive and enhance community values. Preservation of farmland ensures continuation of farming in mid-Michigan.
