MMLC History
The mid-Michigan Land Conservancy grew from the Natural Areas Association. In 1976 the Natural Areas Association was founded to support conservation of our natural heritage in the Lansing area. The Association worked to protect open space and increase public awareness of the economic, social, and environmental impact of urban sprawl. It permanently protected over 400 acres of farmland, river frontage, and wetlands, as well as helped plant wildlife habitats and establish Natural Beauty Roads.
In 2002 the Natural Areas Association expanded the geographic range and became the Mid-Michigan Land Conservancy.
